About ABC

America’s Body Company (ABC) is the industry leader when it comes to bringing new and innovative products to market. Now part of the Leggett & Platt family, ABC was founded in 1976 as Great Lakes Truck Equipment. Since that time ABC has grown to 9 locations nationwide with plans for further expansion into new markets over the next 5 years.

The management team and corporate offices are located in Columbus, OH. ABC has 9 additional locations - Cleveland, OH / Louisville, KY / Tampa, FL / Clinton, MD / Philadelphia and Nanticoke, PA / Portland, OR and a new facility that began production Q406 in LaGrange, TX.

ABC operates as both a distributor as well as a manufacturer of our own proprietary product offerings. ABC manufactures its own line of platform/stake bodies, landscaper bodies, dry-freight van bodies, cutaway vans, and van interiors. In addition, ABC distributes Marauder and All-Star dump bodies, Stahl service bodies and Meyer snow plows.

In 2006, ABC shipped more than 70,000 units with products ranging from van interiors to dumps to stake bodies and vans. Even during high volume periods, lead-times and customer service remain consistent. ABC does not make it a practice to stretch lead-times when business is strong. It is our goal to maintain consistent product lead-times, regardless of market conditions.

ABC has the largest direct sales force in the industry, with more than 42 outside sales representatives nationwide. Our sales representatives work closely with customers to cultivate business in each local area. In order to further strengthen customer relationships ABC has incorporated a strong engineering and research and development team.

Bottom line, ABC listens to our customers. We have recently launched two new innovative products as a result of that strategy. An innovative van interior product and a new stake rack system.
