ABC’s Rugged American line of products have brought new and exciting innovations to market. Our use of composite material in the body floor and sidewall panels has given customers an innovative choice for the first time in years.

The Rugged American Line up includes: Rugged American Platform & Stake bodies, Landscaper bodies and contractor bodies. All utilize a 3/4" white extruded, single piece composite floor. The landscaper and contractor bodies use a 3/8” black extruded composite panel for the sidewalls.

Composite materials have many advantages over steel. Composite is lighter than steel, yet has comparable strength. The use of composite increases payload capacity, fuel efficiency, product life and the variety of cargos you are able to haul. Composite will not delaminate or chip and is crack and impact resistant. One other important property of composite, it reduces friction and allows for safer and easier material handling.

Rugged American S.M.A.R.T. Racks, another industry first from America’s Body Company. S.M.A.R.T. Racks is Simply the Most Advanced Racking Technology. Made of strong, light-weight, impact resistant composite with steel uprights, SMART Racks save weight, resist rust and enhances the over-all product life.

SMART Racks intuitive design allows each rack to interlock with the next without the use of additional locking hardware. In addition, the racks have self-locking hardware to keep them securely seated in the stake pockets. The racks are interchangeable and can be placed at any location on the body.
